CNET Tech Review: iPhone done white

Original video: cnettv.cnet.com This week on the CNET Tech Review: the white iPhone 4 has arrived; our Top 5 tech gifts for Mother’s Day; a pair of pretty good point-and-shoot cameras; and the MacBook Air vs. the Samsung Series 9 in this week’s Prizefight.

A quick track I’ve made while travelling using the amazing Propellerhead Figure on iPhone 4. Here is the result with a little bit of tweaking. Got three minutes and want to make some music? Figure is the fun music-making app for instant inspiration. Figure highlights Make songs with Drums, Bass and Lead Synth Play by sliding your finger across the play pad Always stay in key and on the beat No previous playing skills required Tweak and twist your track on the fly Sounding amazing has never been this easy The sound of Reason on your phone! Swedish firm Propellerhead Software is one of the key companies in the history of electronic music-making, having been responsible for software like ReBirth — which emulated Roland’s famous 303 synthesizer and 808 and 909 drum machines — and studio package Reason. Now it’s making apps. Starting with an iOS version of ReBirth in May 2010, and now with an entirely new app called Figure. Propellerhead’s Figure music app is awesome, easy to use and cheap. And since Reason is the one and only software I use for my music (www.moumouzias.gr), I was more than happy when Figure (Powered by Reason) came out. It’s a Reason for mobile phone! Check these features Bass & lead parts use Reason’s Thor synthesizer Drums powered by Reason’s Kong drum machine Play in different keys & modes. Set once or change on the fly. Increase the Shuffle to loosen up your beats Turn up Pump to add a club sound to your tracks Adjust levels using Propellerhead’s

They can if they are perserved. And a lot of books use recled materials. And nooks and kindles kill off books store where people work in America. and the economy is bad enough, with more and more book stores closing, the unemploment rate goes up. Nooks and kindles send more jobs to asian counties paying them little money and work all day. You cant replace something thats been around since humans drew pictures on cave walls and leaves, it doesnt go away.
    Im sick of you. stfu.

never said books were useless, but in this age of technology, i think it’s time they should be replaced, of course in a couple hundred years the kindles will be broken, but wouldn’t new devices appear? and books don’t last centuries either, if that’s what you’re getting at.

my final point – books kill trees…

And then little kids will never know what a real book is. They’ll see a screen, nothing real, nothing they can keep in a big wooden box and show their kids. And you can ‘keep apps’ or save ‘books’ on a kindle but then something better will come up. Books have gone back for ages, and we can keep them in records. You cant put a kindle in a file, pull it out hundreds of years later. It would be usless and broken.
I think Ive made my point.

    they should…

Prizefight always ends up in Apple winning. It’s even pointless to do the ’rounds’, just say Apple wins. We all know cnet is Apple backers.

heard of the app called CHECKPOINTS? it’s an app that lets you scan item at any store. and when you scan you get points and coins the points go towards the redemption of many prizes ranging from gift cards to electronics. The coins you use for two mini games of which you also win points and once again yes you got it go towards your gifts. if your interested download the app for both ANDRIOD or IPHONE and enter a code: (lizbeth) without the parentheses that instantly give you 300 points.

  33. NenneEffe

Nice work, Manolis! This interface is really great. Now go make some non-80s music. Haha, I’m just teasing you, of course. I actually like this piece very much.

With Figure is very very easy. You have it in your pocket and you can quickly record an idea or sculpt a sound.
